How it works

1

Provide your genome file

Crimson Iris works best with whole-genome or whole-exome sequencing data.

2

Review your report

We provide a curated list of the most unique variants found in your genome, and specific actions you can take to learn more.

3

Subscribe to stay up-to-date

By default your data will be deleted after 30 days, or subscribe to get notifications when science changes.

The science

We have designed the Crimson Iris model to answer the question: 'What are the genetic variants that are most likely to contribute to my unique traits and the unique traits in my family?'. The model incorportates two key pieces of information -- the frequency of a genetic variant, and the strength of its impact on a wide variety of diseases and traits.

We have curated a set of 1000s of genetic variants that are most likely to be relevant to your health and traits, and for each of them we compute a 'uniqueness score' that takes into account these two pieces of data. The data sources include results from ClinVar, the UK Biobank, the All of Us Research Program and gnomAD, among others.

Once we have sorted variants by uniqueness, we use language models like chatGPT to generate text summaries for a report that provides actionable next steps based on the set of variants found in your genome.
